Audio Programmer

Starbreeze is looking for an audio programmer for a full-time position at our studio in Uppsala.

A Starbreeze Audio Programmer works to bridge the gap between concept and implementation, building the systems used by the content creators and designers on the Audio team. The Audio Programmer is an architect and an engineer, with a passion for audio.

You're ready to try your own ideas out in a progressive creative environment, working side-by-side with audio content creators, participating in scrums and brainstorm sessions to find clever solutions and workflows. You have to be conscious about the usability of your systems through the eyes of a sound designer.

You will be working within the Unreal Engine 3 framework, with the vision of creating something that stands out from the competition. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining the audio engine
  • Designing and implementing systems and features conceptualized in collaboration with the audio team
  • Technical reviews and establishment of best practices for audio content

  

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Thorough understanding of digital audio concepts and systems
  • Solid foundation of C++ programming and computer organization
  • Knowledge of existing third-party audio engines (FMOD, WWise)

  • Experience with current generation game consoles
  • Direct content creation experience from an sound designer's perspective 
  • DSP and acoustics knowledge
  • Interest in deepening your skills in sound design
